Gonna Be Alright

a poem and song by Lolly Vieira

By Lolly VieiraPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I’ve got a new kind of love

and it’s the kind that’s been gifted from above

it melts over me like a ray of sun

each time I thought it ended it had just begun

so here’s to a new life

I keep on trying again

pulling the knives out of my back so I can hug my friends

I meet myself at new levels daily

I’m learning to be certain of the uncertainty

I go with the flow but remember my home

each day that I live I am trying to grow

I manifest love and create with my soul

and oh

I know

it’s gonna be alright

I’ve been through dark days and I’ve seen the light

there’s been times when I run and days when I fight

but I was made for this, built capable and strong

I may not always be right, but I wasn’t made wrong

I know there’s better days ahead

if I could just manage not to lose my head

I meet myself at new levels daily

I’m learning to be certain of the uncertainty

I go with the flow but remember my home

each day that I live I am trying to grow

I manifest love and create with my soul

and oh

I know

it’s gonna be alright

so easy to get caught up and waste away

but that’s just not the message that I’m trying to convey

‘cause nothing good is going to come without the pain

and even the desert don’t grow without rain

gonna transform my ugliness into beauty

and open up the eyes that just don’t wanna see

I meet myself at new levels daily

I’m learning to be certain of the uncertainty

I go with the flow but remember my home

each day that I live I am trying to grow

I manifest love and create with my soul

and oh

I know

it’s gonna be alright
