Growing up in the midst of Chaos
You held your ground
Pave a path for yourself
You didn't get into the streets
The drugs
Your only downfall was women
Isn't that such
They play these games
Tell you lies set you up
Damn you had such a surprise
Your life was cut short
Just out of high school
I don't really know you buddy
But you're still family
As I sit here and listen to my mother's cries
Your death has hit her so hard that she vomits
One year apart you lost your uncle
When you're up there say hi
Along with him and those we lost before
Keep your hands over this family
We may be miles apart
But our ties lie within our blood
And that's Unbreakable
No matter how dysfunctional we are
It's sad that once again death has brought us together
You won't be the last
But I ask of you and every other Fallen Angel
When they come give them a warm welcome
Spread your arms out wide
And cover them in the light that is heaven
Times are hard
people are dying senselessly
Just know you're in a safe place now
With no burdens on your shoulder
The only thing you can do
Is keep your hands over your sisters and brothers
Praying that the streets don't take them
As they took their brother
Rest in Peace Angel
you will never be forgotten

I've been writing poetry on and off since elementary school. i didn't get heavily involved in poetry until the end of middle school going into high school. Poetry and writing stories became an outlet for me during those difficult times
