We see with our eyes
But they’re not open
For the glass is half empty
We dwell on what we can’t control
Missing the bigger picture
The disaster this world has become
No one sees or at least
They try not to but
History is reversing itself
We’re plummeting back
Into old times
Our world is becoming
Segregated again
War is near and all we can
Worry about is the next
Big celebrity news
We don’t see the
Disaster we have become
As a nations people
When are we going to
Open our eyes and ears to reality
This world is becoming unknown
A foreign land to me my own backyard
Racism has never left but
They are becoming bolder
and bolder to speak it
people are dying everyday
and yet a blind eye is turned
because this not the news
we wish to partake
this is chaos at his best
women and children are
being killed and raped
and yet no one has intervened
when will the bloodshed be enough
when will the tears that
stain our eyes be enough
when will the cries of yet
another lifeless body laid
bare for all to see be enough
when will the lies that not only
our government but every
government feeds be enough
when will we have a voice
and not fear the consequences
because the payoff
will be victory enough
when will we stop hiding
behind the computer and act
when will we stop degrading one another
and lift our sisters and brothers
when will we become a nation
that is great and not bias
when will we say it’s time to
rewrite the lies of history
when will we see through
that viewpoint of misery
when will we Bow Down
and give our all to him to
mend this broken world
our sins have created
when will we stop looking
through one side of the glass
and see it whole
when will our viewpoints become one
