God Save Baby Christmas Part 2

What will Christmas be like in the future given Climate Change Chaos?

By Sarah-Jane MackenziePublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Father Christmas himself will have to rethink his role in the future I guess....

So much of it came to be about greed

At the expense of need.

And he was the actual father of many,

We are told: When husbands were away

He would seduce their drunken wives

Underneath the mistletoe

Having crept in as a parcel deliverer

Disguised by an Amazon van.

So then? he would murmer when they opened their front door to him

So then?.......

Do I have to go back to receiving a satsuma in my Dad's

Old school rugby sock

As my sole Christmas gift?

Would I swap more for the world?

The World for more?

I'll bolt my front door

And hide my own credit card

In the crevice

Beneath the freezer and the kitchen floor

And try not to hope for more.
