Give Me The Key

Or You Can Keep It

Give Me The Key

You got my heart on lock

And dangling the key

One day you're nice

Then, the other you're mean

Reply to only some text

I need you to respond to everything

Yes, we are friends

But I’ll move on quicker if we were enemies

How can I fix a broken heart

If you still make it happy

I want to be through with you

But your presence is what my depression needs

I gave you my support

You never thanked me

Wish I could stop thinking about you

Boy get out my dreams

Give me the keys

It's time for my heart to be set free

Is this friendship real

Or are you playing mind games with me

Keep your distance

No, I want you to still talk to me

Ooo boy you drive me crazy

On days I don't text you respond to me

And that makes me scream

The friend zone is not for me

Boy stop texting me

But every time we text my heart skips a beat

You don't have to keep reminding me you don't like me

Don’t want you to leave

But you make my heart bleed

Please give me the key

No keep it

I like the toxic feeling you give me

Love and longing are never simple, and this poem reflects that with striking clarity.

Ouch, I can feel that heartbreaking feeling of being led on by someone. Great poem.
