Harvest of Memory

Alone,
I gather my thoughts, my strength, my courage
to face the world
alone.
*
Together,
we gathered with family, with friends.
We shared our togetherness, our time,
our thoughts, strength, intimacy.
Sweet moments linger.
Laughter and smiles to lighten darkest times.
Stories only togetherness perpetuates.
Warmth no other bond can equal.
In a blink, you were gone.
And now...
*
Alone,
I gather my thoughts, my strength, my courage
to face the world
alone.
***
Dedicated to my late husband, Paul, and my late husband, Ted.
May they rest in peace.

Well-wrought. Sorry for your losses.
This is beautiful 🌹🌹🌹
Beautifully written, the repetition of the first stanza to close out the piece really drives it home. 👏👏👏
