'Gainst the Foggy Windowpanes
I watch the raindrops spatter
'Gainst the foggy windowpanes
I watch the raindrops spatter
'Gainst the foggy windowpanes
*
On the roof, gentle patter
Pondering my heart's desires
I watch the raindrops spatter
*
Trying to quell love's fires
Wanting only for your love
Pondering my heart's desires
*
Darkened clouds around, above
I cling to a hope, a dream
Wanting only for your love
*
But at last, I see a gleam
In your eyes, mirrored in mine
I cling to a hope, a dream
*
This is more than just a sign
'Gainst the foggy windowpanes
In your eyes, mirrored in mine
'Gainst the foggy windowpanes
*

I love how it ends up with hope at the end.
The 1960's song Rhythm of the Falling Rain came into my mind. The repetition gives the poem a poignant effect, Khrysha.
Gorgeous work Krysha! 🌸
Whoaaaa, this is such a complex form and you managed to execute it so brilliantly! Loved your poem!
I found this so cozy and comforting, just like being tucked inside on a rainy day. 🌧️
This is great. I'm not familiar with the form you've used. I'll have to check it out. The repetition perfectly compliments the subject you chose. It might seem silly but I love 'Gainst instead of against. Perhaps it's a cultural difference, but it would simply never occur to me to do that! ⚡💙 Bill⚡
