plagued by invisible wounds
that won’t ever mend
not completely mental
but not all the way round the bend
somewhere near crazy
somewhere near free
but not half as insane
as i thought i would be
i’m not exactly...
the sharpest knife in the drawer
didn’t know it was a contest
or that someone was keeping score
i did not know
or would not have guessed
that this was just a game
another teasing paranoid test
not quite a full blown loony
but nowhere near mad
reasons to be cheerful
to be cheerful or sad?
a picnic missing sandwiches
a slab short of a six pack
not all the bats are in the belfry
not playing with a full deck
