Frightful Night

A Halloween poem and a scary song

By Rasma RaistersPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The witch with a switch

rose up on her broomstick

a silhouette of dread

in the pale moonlight.

A werewolf’s howl close by

and spooks fill the sky.

then the Count

Dracula himself arose

with a blood-red leer

so frightening, so alarming

with hearts pounding

the night of Halloween

*

The witch’s cackle

sounded dark and eerie

over a moonlit cemetery.

It’s Halloween the night of fright

and weird delight!

The skeletons dance

and we all fall into a trance.

Oh! The romance of the unknown

and the werewolf with a snarl

like a fool, began to drool

and in great glee

did cry out

Happy Halloween

to one and all

and a night of frightful delight!

Cute All Hallows' Eve poem and love the song, "Werewolves of London", too. Well done.
