Friendship
comes in shades of blue
from azure to teal
like the deep sky
or ultramarine
like the sea at dusk
when there is only
a salt breeze bridging
the gap between us
on a ramshackle quay
overlooking the Mediterranean
turquoise
when the sun is at its height
and everything is made apparent.
