Freedom

A Privilege

I once realized

It wasn't guaranteed

When I saw the headlines

I saw what people were doing

And I saw what killed them all

The fact we weren't unified

Over something stupid

We all Care about ourselves

More than one another

We always seem to miss

the things around us

I miss being free

just like the good old days

We're never free

No matter what they say

We can never think for ourselves

We can never have our own opinions

Or thoughts about politicians

The government controls our minds

and everything seems to go behind

the big wall of secrets

I remember when

I once got the chance

To be free

And experience freedom

But now we'll never get it back

I feel bad for everyone else

Because they have probably fallen into the trap

Of thinking everything will be ok

If they just trust blindly

sad poetry

About the Creator

Lorelai Breedlove

I started writing when I was 10 and I never stopped. I started because I felt it was a great way to express yourself and not have to say it to anyone. I've never been one to tell people what I'm thinking, so writing was a good for me. :)
