Original art work by Teresa J. Lavender

I want to wipe the feel of you off of my fingers

the scent of you from my skin

the taste of your kiss

I don't want to miss

I want to go places you've never been

I want to shake this love off my shoulders

the thought of you from my head

get you out of my dreams

it's a mystery to me

how you got to me like you did

I want to be free – from the ghosts in the hall

from the shadows that crawl over me

I want to be free- from the pain and despair

from the anger that pours out of me

I want to be free

I want to wipe that smile from your face now

I want you to know how it feels

to have someone play

with your heart and then say

that none of it was ever real

I want you to know pain and rejection

to feel the stab in your heart

but that never will be

because you would need

to have a soul and a heart

I want to be free – from the ghosts in the hall

from the shadows that crawl over me

I want to be free- from the pain and despair

from the anger that pours out of me

I want to be free
