Foxes Run Free

Pro Wildlife Villanelle

"The Golden Time" by Angie Livingstone , The Glittering Fox

Introduction

This may read a bit disjointed but it is meant to give a sense of freedom for foxes and others.

I believe that animals should be free to roam. Humans steal their habitat then complain when animals try to live by taking what food they can. Foxes would forage and eat other animals, but when their normal prey is removed then they have to target domesticated areas.

The joke of hunting as "pest control" is a lie for bullies to dress up and murder defenceless animals. We see the same with many other animals throughout the world, such as bears and badgers,

All animal hunting should be stopped, and I hate that the hunts justify themselves by classifying their prey as vermin when the real vermin is wearing red coats on the back of a horse.

This poem is inspired by the beautiful painting by Angie Livingstone showing a fox running free.

The music is "Run With The Fox" by Alan White and Chris Squire.

They are so pretty. Still food for the bears though.

  • Yes, it's humans that destroy and take over their habitat. Shame on them!

Beautiful work. One should only hunt for food. Fox hunts are cruel why do the very rich do them?

The saving grace is that there are many good souls who adopt foxes as pets. Let's help such people win! A beautiful villanelle.

It is a wild villanelle in more than one sense. But good, I love foxes, their barking and beautiful colour.
