As the dark begins to beckon and the lightning doth crash, webbing through the sky turning timber into ash.

There sat a fair maiden hunched on a dry cracked peer, and there beside her was a crow so near.

As the wind whips through the leaves fueling the fires rebel, she watched as the flames rip through the past that she once held.

The crow whispers softly a melody she could only hear, and after each note moved her out slid a tear.

She sat there for a moment pondering his tune, her shoulders getting heavy as she understand his truth.

For the wisdom he sings felt like knives in the heart, but by understanding his wisdom knew it was smart.

As she felt all his words she looked deep into his eyes, then one last look at the destruction that she once recognized.

She blew out her breath so deep and so heavy, then turned to her spirit and whispered I'm ready.

She stood tall on the peer watching the emberous show, wiping her face leaving only the scarlets glow.

She slowly turned her back her chest full of pain, but with each step she moved forward the sky opened up with rain.

As the smoke began to billow leaving its sweet soft smell, she began to smile from a promise only a crow can tell.
