Forever Alone

Life never punishes us, life gives us lessons we have to learn in order to grow.

I've only known love from books

So young and gentle and naive

A love that makes you feel alive

And make your heart sing on repeat.

I've only known love from music

A honey voice singing on

How much they cherish and adore you

That they decide to write a song.

I've only known love from movies

The kind with kisses under rain,

The one that makes you weep so deeply

That all the feels can't be contained.

I've only known love from others

As it never occurred to me

I shut my my heart and closed the doors

And wallowed in my own misery.

***

I know that love will come someday

And take me by surprise

But patience first, as all best things

Come later by in life.

Love yourself first,

cherish your time

Discover the secrets

your mind likes to hide

And when the work's done

and you're feeling whole

You won't know what it's like

to be bored on your own.

I wonder a lot and I question myself

Is love as wonderful as it is for them?

How to explain that I'm yet to know

What it feels like to feel things unknown?
