It was a moment like any other until it wasn’t
Time had passed before and likely would again
Yet it didn’t pass at all when I caught the eyes of him
.
Dark green and speckled brown
An arch of the brow, a reverse of a frown
A fluttering feeling in which I drowned
.
He smiled then at me, it’s true
The moment was longer now
But still, I knew
.
My breath came quick and entered my chest
Filling it up since I had forgotten the rest
.
If this is love, for heaven’s sake,
Let me live-
For my heart is his to take
.
He stepped my way with an easy sway
I let him come, I’ll let him stay
.
If this is love, for heaven’s sake,
Let him kiss me-
Let the whole earth shatter and quake
.
He approached, I put my hand to his face
He chuckled, pulling me into a warm embrace
.
If this is love, for heaven’s sake,
Let him hold me-
And from this dream, we shall not wake
.
And as most love stories go
It ended with a kiss
The ground beneath us trembled
The God’s rejoiced our bliss
