Flowering Eyes: Petals of Paradise
an ode to the tranquil, breathtaking depth of loving you
By Dalma UbitzPublished 8 months ago • 1 min read

Your eyes florescere
A dawning golden garden
Sylvan arabesque leis
Nymph in garland, thistle ardent
I fuse into the whirlpool
Of your molten cocoa waves
Latticed roots, like filigree
Weave beneath your gaze
Enfolded in the depths rests
A treasure trove of solace
The lagoon I longed to drown in
Is the oasis of your promise
Falling for the Belle-de-Nuit
Is drifting into place
I was born to harbor here
In your eternal, warm embrace

I love this so much, Dalma! There's so much incredible imagery in here 🥰🥰 [Prize 1/5]
The line I lingered on: The lagoon I longed to drown in/Is the oasis of your promise ♥
I am learning Latin, just for fun, and your inclusion of a Latin word in your first line made me smile. It’s always an accomplishment when I come across a Latin word and I understand what it means. 🙂 Lovely poem, indeed. And gorgeous image.
Glorious work Dalma! 🫶🏾🌸
