The Word
I was sure that this had been used in the Genesis song "The Colony Of Slippermen" from "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" but the word I had confused it with was "Slubberdegullion" (a dirty, worthless, or slovenly person. It's an archaic term that dates back to the 1650s), which it shares some letters with, but for some reason it is stuck in my mind.

The description could refer to me because I love talking to people and am flighty and whimsical. I love going off into imaginary wonderful worlds to take a break from the difficulties of the real world.
Kurt Vonnegut is one of my favourite authors and so that may have placed the word in my memory as well:
In the 1969 book Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Barbara Pilgrim, the daughter of the protagonist, is described as a "bitchy flibbertigibbet."
And so a poem, for this I am going to use the Pantoum format (my sixteen line version

Great word! So British! Loved your poem too, Mike. Going to check out Vonnegut too on your recommendation. An author I know but have never read.
Flibbertigibbet is a favourite spoken word of mine, although I have never written it ๐โฆ like you, I also identify closely with it (not the modern slang gossipy meaning but the chatty aspect. Well done โ .
Nice!
Great word choice and pantoum!
Never heard of this word but it is kind of fun to say and the poem was fun to read.
I've heard of this word before but didn't know the meaning. Loved your poem!
