Footsteps in soft sand,

washed away before the tide.

Was I ever here?

A gentle and sad reminder that because we no longer see it, we start to doubt if we ever left a mark. But of course it's not about wanting the footsteps to last forever; it's about the memory (at least that's my take, lol). Also, if this is one of those "mid and dissonant" ones you were talking about... Nuh-uh, no way! This is amazing, powerful, and screaming of your talent in the art of haiku. Stand tall and proud.

This description of footsteps in soft sand being washed away by the tide really makes me think. It's like so many things in life that seem significant at the moment but fade quickly. I've had similar experiences where I've put effort into something, and it felt important at the time, but then it disappeared. Do you think there's a way to make those moments more lasting? Or are we just meant to accept that some things are fleeting?
