Betrothed to the world as a lover's embrace.

To the withering of a sorrow place.

With the sky flickering in the night.

To a smell full of delight.

A burning sensation among our heart.

A crackling as it tears apart.

A bed of warmth lay underneath.

An aroma of peace is unsheathed.

A warmth feeling this embrace.

But a harsh touch should one face.

Distance is key to keep cozy and right.

As its' hunger feeds through the night.

The music it makes soothing as a harp,

Inhale a scent that can be sharp.

Relaxing near it, not only grants you heat.

As the flames of comfort provide an extraordinary treat.

About the Creator

Mark Shaw

I began writing lyrics and stories back in high school. Even went as far as publishing a poem online and it being in a book. As with film a picture can say a thousand words and show emotion, but audio triggers that emotion.
