First Contact: The Universal Gesture of Hand and Heart
Grasping Earthly Greetings
By Lylonie BennettPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

In a vast expanse of cosmic sea,
An alien visits, curiously.
To this visitor, so new and rare,
I ponder what first gift to share.
🤝
Not our cities, grand and tall,
Nor our music, that soulful call.
Before the wonders, big or slight,
There's one thing to show, oh so right.
🤝
A handshake, a gesture, simple and neat,
Where two different beings can peacefully meet.
It speaks of trust, goodwill, and grace,
No words needed, just face to face.
🤝
For before we dive into Earth's vast lore,
This touch binds us, forevermore.
In unity, friendship, we shall begin,
A cosmic dance, with no end or origin.
🤝
So dear alien, with eyes so wide,
Let's start with trust, side by side.
In the vast universe, so immense and deep,
A handshake's promise is a bond we'll keep.
