Fireflies in My Darkness

A love letter to the souls who held me when I was disappearing.

By Yaka Published 2 months ago 1 min read

🌙 Fireflies and Stars

My love reaches those

who let me be there in spirit,

and the few who held me close in body.

From the depths of my heart,

from the loneliest corner of my soul—

bright, radiant, overflowing—

I speak:

You are the fireflies

of my nights of sorrow,

the stars that fill my skies

when silence hurts,

when the world turns distant

and the echo of myself trembles.

I cry, yes,

but I cry with joy

because you exist.

Because you remain.

Because you are there.

⚓ The Lighthouse

If strength still lives in me,

I will return one day

all the happiness you poured into my chest—

this chest too small

for a love so immense.

I love you,

I love you,

and I will always love you.

You are the engine of my body,

the breath that moves my spirit,

the wind of hope

in an ocean of storms.

You are the lighthouse

that guides this weary soul

through a sea of darkness

and silent traps.

🌫 Not Today, Not Ever

I will shout it

to the four winds:

Thank you.

For the years of loneliness,

of wounds and silent battles,

you came—

you saved me from the abyss,

you made me stronger,

more human,

alive again.

Now I can face the shadows

and say:

not today, not ever.

Though darkness mocks me,

whispers I will fail,

tries to fill me with poison—

my love is brighter,

my love is infinite.

🌿 A Path of Light

I embrace my darkness,

for it is innocent;

life is chaos,

always has been,

always will be,

and yet—

There is a path of light,

a quiet thread of hope,

and I have chosen it:

the path of love.

Until the day I vanish,

know this truth:

Beyond the edges of the universe,

I will love you.

Always.
