For The Vocal "The Last Flame" Challenge
Introduction
I took the title from the Blue Öyster Cult album title track and thought it would be a great analogy for the way I felt about almost losing my Vocal account.
I will use a straight villanelle for this

The Pages Of My Life Are Torn

Just Smoke And Ashes In A Blur
My House Destroyed I'm Out The Door
Leaving Ashes, Shredding My Nerves

So Much Destruction, It's Absurd
Stories Fragile, Written No More

This is a really excellent take on the challenge. I enjoyed the imagery it was very powerful, glad to see you back, and I think you did a good job addressing what was incredibly frustrating.
I loved the imagery you wove into this piece and the emotional refrain "unknown hands are burning my words." I do think this is one of my favorites of your work, perhaps because I understand your struggle this past month that inspired it. Beautifully written.
