You tore apart our whole
Left a gaping hole
In my soul
Which then was occupied
By an annoying mole
Digging deeper under my skin
As my heart walls thin…
I thought I had a void to fill
But I’ll die upon this hill…
Rather than beg and grovel
Grabbed me a shovel
Thinking it would behoove
This interloping loneliness to remove
But all I did was make it larger
Perhaps would have been smarter
To drown my sorrows
Than to excavate my tomorrows
So I climbed into a bottle
Set sail full throttle
With my buddy Captain Morgan
Who attacked a particular organ
Now my liver has cirrhosis
My doc gave a bad prognosis
Now I’m a heartbroken drunken fellow
Sporting a tan of jaundice yellow
So who now can can calm this strife
Bring some balance to my life
Perhaps I can find an oriental wife?
I’ll drink to that … ….

This is heartbreak with a sharp edge of humor and self-awareness! A raw yet cheeky exploration of loss, bad choices, and those desperate grasps for balance—relatable in its chaotic spiral. Love the witty flow and how it ends with a mix of resignation and hope. Cheers to that!
