Every time you go away

you take something with you—

from me,

and in its absence

poetry is born,

and it fills the void

you left behind.

Really like this one Imola. It's that introspection- the examination of where words can come from. I like the "with you-from me" mix too😊

  • This is so sweet!

Ooo this was very nice. 📗It felt green. But don't ask me what that meant. I have no idea. But the voice and tone was fresh. 📗Each line had a purpose. I am glad that the conclusion was exactly how we write poetry. 📗Something has to be taken from us, unfortunately. poetry does a wonderful job at filling the void. 📗This was romantic, in a way. Fantastic work as always, Imola 🤗❤️🖤

This is so sad and so simply...true. Exceptional.

Well-wrought! This void is to the poet, perhaps, what the blank canvas is to the painter.

Hits like a hammer. Love the pace of "you take something with you-/from me." Lovely read.
