Fifty-two pickup, shut up, I say

Stupid little game

Cards shuffled

Thrown on the floor

You tricked me, okay

I'll pick them up, one by one

Make you wait while I count

Out loud and proud

Slow-Mo, one potato, two potato, three...

Done!

Fifty-two cards, but one is missing

I am fifty-three

Yup, it's me

I'm the ace you didn't know about

The "I'll play dumb, chic"

Who went along with your skit

The invisibly added one

Akin to Joker

Wanna go again, Queeny?

I bet you think all Kings are made for you

Probably wanna add the Jacks to your stew

Well, I got a trick for ya

Up my sleeve, you best believe

The whole pack goes

No love for semi pros

I'm the dealer

I'm the gambler

I'm the poker face winner

And you

You just folded your hand

Like how I just cleared the deck?

Fifty-two pickup, shut up

I am fifty-three

And evidently,

You don't know about me

I heard of the game when I was a kid. You never wanted to play 52 card pick up, because that meant they would just throw the cards in the floor and you had to pick them up. It was a smart comment if they said "you want to play 52 card pick up" - It was always no. This bought back memories. Well Done Marilyn.

I don't know the game though I've heard the name! Love how sassy this is!

I do love your poetry, Marilyn! And this was well crafted delightfully funny 😂 Might have to use two decks next time and go for 104 pickup for twice the fun.

Oh I was hoping someone would do 52-card pick up! It was the first thing that came to my mind when "Cards" was the word of the day. I remember my dad playing this trick on me and my friends and my own kids when they were old enough. Love it!
