My fellow writer,
When the right words won't come
When new ideas seem impossible
As you twirl your pen around in uncertainty
eyes transfixed on that blank screen
I hope you keep writing
When you just want to walk away
abandon pen and paper,
that unfinished line
When you are sure you've given all the ideas you've had
every ounce of your creativity already used up
imagination wrung dry
I hope you keep writing
Ideas will come
Your mind, a vast and endless sea of ideas waiting to emerge
The times when it feels every writer is better than you
Whenever jealousy hits hard
How could you write anything like them?
I'll have you realize
Your creative mind can't be compared
How could anyone write anything like you?
I hope you keep writing
If you ever come face to face with the most negative comments
heart sinking criticism
one-star reviews
No matter how many setbacks,
no matter how discouraging
The days you feel your writing isn't worthy
Please don't stop writing
Your stories more worthy than you'll ever know
