Feeling Of First Frost
2025 Vocal Challenge: The Sound Of First Frost
The Magic Kingdom to the frost world
Lydia, a child aged five, put on her warm coat
The fuzzy hat she wore tickled her ears
She wiggles her small toes in her warm boots
Why does the mitten that her grandma made protect
her hands from the frost outside?
Because grandmas always made things with love.
Lydia felt warm in her magical Kingdom
She cannot hear the crackling of the melting frost on the leaves
Her nose was the only thing that smelled the tasteless air
The smoke from the chimney carries the burnt wood smell
over shadow the frost cold air smell.
She sat on the frost-covered grass
If she was not wearing her snow pants
Her behind would freeze for sure
like a freezer-burned chicken.
She stood up and ran through the frost-covered grass
It sounds like glass breaking on the ground, or did it
sounded like eating Captain Crunch cereal.

A delightful First Frost poem… I love how sensory it is.💖 I especially like: “ She stood up and ran through the frost-covered grass It sounds like glass breaking on the ground, or did it sounded like eating Captain Crunch cereal.”✅
Her freezer-burned bottom had me 😂
Hahahahahahhahaha freezer burned chicken, that was cute. Loved your poem!
A child in first frost, they can't wait for it to snow, can they? ah to be a child again
Delightful! 🫶🏾🥰
This is such cozy winter imagery. I love the mix of magic and everyday warmth.
Love it!!❤️💖💖❤️
Beautiful imagery, love how sweet and youthful/joyful it is.
Your stories always bring a playful quirkiness to the day. Such childish delight here.
I agree with Michelle, loved the imagery and the mention of captain crunch gives it a playful tone like you would expect a 5 yr old to have.
Lovely wintry words
Cool imagery, literally, Mariann!
