“To make a difference in someone’s life,
you don’t have to be
brilliant, rich, beautiful or perfect.
You just have to care.”
You literally just need to be a friend.
One of the kindest things
we can do for anybody
is to sit down with him or her
and listen.
This kind of compassion
is one of the most warmhearted ways
to show someone
that we genuinely care for them.
This shows unity and a commitment
to encouraging and uplifting others.
The other person
will feel valued
and they themselves
will find the strength needed
to ‘face’ life itself.
Never underestimate
how much your kindness
helps another person.
A gentle smile
for someone we may never see again,
a complete stranger
standing at the bus stop,
can make all the difference
to their day.
And we feel good too.

I love how this piece connects helping others with nurturing ourselves. It feels honest, hopeful, and grounding.
Why just smile I will gift my garden surplus too. But people where I live are not open. California suburb.
