FATHER, MY FATHER

I miss you

By Maria ParshevaPublished 6 years ago 1 min read
In memory of my father, r.i.p

Be safe my love, your tears

Caress the clouds above

Falling through my eyes

Say yes to them, the whisperers of rain

Who have come to collect you

Haunting me at night

Do not collapse on me in death

Crushing my neck with weight

As your eyes erupt overhead, like balls of fire

There is no flurry of words worthy

To tell you, to show you

My need for you scorched into my face

A covert misery aligns

Foreshadowing my future, their prophecy

Frozen on your trembling lips

Soon this night will be over

Your time has come

You are not amongst the living, and it’s raining in my head

My heart, my heart, don’t break

I have given myself up to fate

Cannot tear him away from the heavens above

I will not twist their wings

Wings of a thousand crows

To stay with me on earth for a while longer

There is no flurry of words worthy

To tell you, to show you

My need for you scorched into my face

She had lips as hard as pearls and coral moonlight in her hair

Hi, I'm Maria and I've been writing poetry, stories and books since I was very young. To me writing is breathing.
