what it feels like to give up
what it feels like to quit
when it feels like it’s too much
when you’re lost, buried in it
when that sigh is all consuming
and you cannot catch your breath
when your doubts and fears are looming
thoughts you’d much rather forget
so you hide out in your corner
tucked away, safe in your bed
dreadfully reliving every horror
wishing to god that you were dead
cause the climb is too demanding
it seems more than you can stand
you can’t handle the pretending
it’s not the way that you had planned
drawing the curtains and retreating
because who really gives a damn
it’s where every turn becomes defeating
exactly where I find I am

Well, I certainly hope that passes soon! Well written Kelli!
💖Kelli, I have to share that reading this was a moment of perfect serendipity. As I read your words about being 'tucked away, safe in your bed,' I am actually in my own bed, tucked away from the world.
