Fall Reading

Comfortably shared between fiction and reality

The wind chimes play a delicate melody

As the breeze rustles the leaves loose from the branches of the giant oak

They scatter gracefully

I sit beneath it, in the late afternoon sunlight

Dappled honey-colored warmth penetrates my sweatshirt

The weathered blanket beneath me is warmed too

The air is fresh on my face

Crisp, like an apple

My ears feel delightfully chilly

The faint smell of the crackling fire pit carries to my nose

I sip my coffee and turn the page

I’m on an adventure

My favorite book carries me to another place

But I’m here too

Comfortably shared between fiction and reality
