1 . The Liar

They say it started with a joke,

Just a whisper passed like smoke.

He twisted truth to make it bite,

A harmless story turned into spite.

*

She cried when no one believed her side,

Lost a friend, her name, her pride.

But he just laughed - it wasnโ€™t much.

Just words, no blood, no fatal touch.

*

But lies are seeds, and when they root,

They rot the branch and kill the fruit.

*

2. The Thief

The girl he hurt had someone near,

A friend who held her story dear.

He swore, "Iโ€™ll make that bastard pay,"

And watched the liar slip away.

*

But petty promises don't make things square,

So he did more than just strip him bare.

He forged the deed, then sold the place-

A family's home and a liar's base.

*

No roof, no roots, no place to go -

A bundle of souls left in the snow.

But stealing peace wonโ€™t help you grow,

It only leaves your hands cold as snow.

*

3. The Killer

The liarโ€™s brother came back home

To find the porch picked clean, alone.

No photos, no old books, no, nothing at all-

Just empty walls and memories he can barely recall.

*

They told him, "Some guy sold it all away,

you'll need another place to go for today."

The brother marched down to his old store,

And grabbed the gun kept in the drawer.

*

The liarโ€™s brother - quiet, cold -

as he learned how the family home was sold.

Tracked the thief through sleepless nights,

Clutched the gun with knuckles white.

*

He found the thief , he had trembling breath,

And gave him final silence known as death.

But as the shot rang through the night,

It didnโ€™t make the wrong things right.

*

4. The Fall

Now he sits with shaking hands,

Surrounded by people seeking to understand.

The cops took notes, the lights stay bright,

He hasnโ€™t slept since that first night.

*

โ€œI was the sword,โ€ he mutters low,

โ€œNot the hand that aimed the blow.

The thief... the liar... they passed it on.

And I just played the final song.โ€

*

Revenge puts on your tone,

And seems like home,

Until you're left, alone, undone,

Unsure of who was the evil one.

*

He thought he hunted evil, set to right what had begun -

But revenge had pulled the trigger; he just held the gun.

Notes:

I was stumped for the longest time on what to do for 'Fall for Revenge' - Eventually, i decided a story-ish poem might be a nice change of pace.
