If I could ask God one question, I’d ask why he gave us eyebrows.

Not how to get to Heaven or the meaning of the universe,

A simple query that might make His own brow

raise in confusion or amusement.

There’s likely a logical explanation like

they keep the sweat and debris

from running into our eyes, but I

like to think we just look funny without them.

You became part of me as much as a cover to a book,

a collar on a dog,

frosting on a cake,

eyebrows on a face.

There’s likely a logical reason God gave you to me, but I

like to think I just look funny without you.
