So everywhere wants one year of experience
What about the unexperience
You were unexperience before
Someone trained you
But for some reason you are not willing to train
Who knew getting a job can be so competitive
So in order to get my start I have to get into a program with limited spots
Then in turn get worked like a dog
Who came up with this system
I thought getting a degree was the hard part
Nope getting a job is way harder
Especially for the qualified

*I know unexperience is not a word but it just sounds so much better than inexperience.

Emily real life!
I knowwww right! This whole system is a scam! Life by itself is a scam, lol
It's a shame, really.
The imagery you use is stunning, and each line feels like it carries a weight of meaning, urging the reader to pause and reflect. I love how you mix both the abstract and concrete to show how experiences are both intangible and deeply felt at the same time. This poem really resonates, and I’ll definitely be thinking about it long after reading. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful reflection on the nature of experience!
