Walking through life
Shattered by the knife they held
Crawling through the cave in which
You were held
Not wanting to unlock your chains
Not wanting to say, farewell
I captured myself
I know I sound crazy
When I say it
I heard myself too
When I said it
I always walked through life
Careless of the betrayal
Never cared for what I do
Fearless even though I’m the prey
They never cared
Yet I couldn’t stay away
I know I sound crazy
When I say it
I heard myself too
When I said it
Am I selfish to say I want more?
I buried myself
Yet, I smell the fresh air
It’s been twenty-two years
I feel a death coming
Reborn with a pain I will not accept
I know I sound crazy
When I say it
I heard myself too
When I said it
