Exercise in Longing
I can imagine any future - after David Hockney's iPad paintings

Plug in for the next generation:
One foot out of a loafer,
Bright colors & reflective surfaces,
Many different kinds of cactus.
The sunset will glisten stronger
If you turn your phone slightly
To the left. I'm talking electric
Impulse. Think empty ferries.
The picture could be of you
Or it could be of nobody else
Because none of the glasses or mugs
Have any liquid in them & I can imagine
Any future crosshatched or dotted in yellow
Or teal, whether we remember our cameras or not.
