I blame the lazy and the poor
I blame the billionaires more
I blame the politicians and the corrupt,
“The systems”, I yell “we must disrupt”
But when oh when
Will I finally see
I’m fighting a mirror
and the real problem is me.
I eat dead bodies and fail in health
I poison my mind with dystopian filth
I poison my vessel with alcohol and aching
Racing past each day on caffeine and craving.
I take my pharmaceuticals like a good girl
Ignoring dissonance is easy when you keep popping pills.
I’m so very unhappy
I need help, don’t you see?
But it’s easier to keep blaming
Everyone but me.

Honest and raw truths 🩷
It is not only your fault, but there are bad people out there, and we must not be the same as them. Powerful words
Hey Kayleigh! Great poem and very powerful. I love how you wrote "The systems”, I yell “we must disrupt” and how you rhymed it with the previous line. Anyways, I hope you've been well and this is autobiographical, I hope you find happiness soon! 😊
Interesting take. Generally in blaming people for the state of the world, I tend to direct more disdain towards the billionaires, but yeah, I guess we could all spend some more time on self-investment.
Powerful writing. But more importantly hi and how are you lass?
