Enticement 🌹

Randy Baker's prompt. Poetry of the 7 words.

By Novel AllenPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Long I stood at the gates of beguilement and temptation

hearing him whisper his silent seduction in my ear

Feeling the unholy beckoning from the depths of the labyrinth

his serenade becoming an obsession I could not resist

Idée fixe, manic and alluring was the enticement of sinful deeds

still, there I stood, unable, unwilling to take my leave

Pondering my fate should I be foolish enough to surrender

for to enter this gateway to base uninhibited inhibitions

Was to lose myself in the sweet ethereal bliss of wanton love

the God Pan had transformed himself magnificently

From faun to the likeness of the virility of a man thing

Sinful, evil thoughts now cascade like velvety sweet nothings

rendering me an enigma to the intrinsic qualities

of my natural me

Alas, I am lost as I enter the vile gates of hades

I am Ofelia in that mythical world, interacting with the faun

I am Alice in Wonderland, meeting the Mad Hatter...only...

for me there is no escape

I have become

Lost in the dark of me

Wrapped in a delicious fall from grace!!

    Idée fixe - so fancy!

  • Whoaaa, this was so hauntingly beautiful! I'm so mesmerized!

  • There is nothing enigmatic about this ethereal labyrinth of which you whisper, serenades cascading over the velvet of our common plight. Yeah, I don't know what I mean either, lol.
