Empty Shadows
paradox sonnet

Shadows are created by light,
a paradox of sorts, when something
obstructs it, gets in its path, anything
no matter how large or small, without a fight
casts a shadow, a thing-shaped patch
of darkness void of spite.
It’s everywhere in everything
And so it tells us nothing,
Darkness illuminated by light,
which really happens
in a void, when nothing is there
darkness is completely wiped away
Unobstructed light flows in,
its bright presence everywhere,
nothing and no one in the way.

Oh I love how you used this poem to study the shadow. I especially love how you taught us that it is a thing shaped patch of darkness... And here comes the profound part... It is void of spite 🤯 I will go back and say I loved how you said it is a (thing shaped patch). A description that allows for all things to be included without overwhelming the poem 👌🏾 You understood and presented this paradox, very well. Enough so that we too, understand 🤗❤️
