Empty Places
Empty buildings. Empty families. Empty Country

Gawkers searched overhead at the unfamiliar rumble of roaring jet engines
Gaping hellgate flames and black smoke billowed, paper drifted, figures fell
Crematorium dust flooded streets filling nostrils with death's acrid remains
Bitter forever reminders of horror, the taste of their ashes never departs
Nothing left. Empty space. Althought bright, you can never touch the light

well done
This was such a horrific event....and one that will never leave the minds of those who lived through it. You've captured the somberness it created, the horror of so much devastation and loss that was endured, and lingering effect it left on us in one fell swoop.
It's still shocking to think about and remember, after all this time 💓
Oof, this one hits hard. I was little when all this happened so I didn't understand but I do see how the ripples of this horrific event has shaped our future (present). Well done, hits right where it needs to. My thoughts and prayers to those who lost someone and to those that were lost.
Gosh, this was so heartwrenching and packed a hugeeeee punch! I loved it so much!
A Twin Towers story poem that still makes one think What if and why really.

I can't wait to be touched by that light, and live with my family and all of you free from disaster. Loved it, and nice to meet you again.
