Emotional Flood

Things You Can't Say Out Loud

The words

trickle

in...

Never spilling out.

Building,

Damming,

Damning

Screamed in silence

How are they not heard?

The words push

Heavy against the wall of indifference

Building,

Damming,

Damning

Dam be damned

The release, words gush forth -

A relief.

Why won't you touch me? Why don't you love me? Who is she? I hate her. I hate you for loving her and not me. Go to hell and take her with you.

Emotional flood abated

Release no longer a relief

Only emptiness

Loneliness

Damned Dam

That was heavy. The title says it all.

  • You put it all out there and did not hold back. Very intense and powerful.

Oh the dam be damned. Great sense of emotional release and then... that other thing. So powerful and beautifully done. Surely a winner!

  • Sometimes you manage to hold the words back, excellent work

This remind me of the viral Coldplay concert video. I am sure the ceo wife would like to say these things that are in this poem

What the CEO's wife won't say out loud after seeing her husband on Coldplay's Kisscam with the HR woman. Awesome poem for the challenge, Julie!!!❤️❤️💕

You've really captured the pressure of unspoken pain so vividly here.
