Elsewhere

A Nonet

It is not as though your warmth faded,

so much as it shifted away;

like the low tide, you sought for

some sweeter, wiser shore.

To still love, elsewhere,

might be far worse

than simply

growing

cold.

    What an incredible poem and artwork pairing!! “like the low tide, you sought for some sweeter, wiser shore” is so exquisite. And the ending has such a lingering sting. Pure excellence, Gabriel!

    Oh, what a tender poem!! Beautifully done, and I like the comparisons to warmth, cold, and tide.
