Reflection

That's the only thing she sees

That's the only thing she hears

As she stare at her reflection,

Thinking she isn't beautiful

As she stares at her reflection,

Thinking she isn't enough

Why can't she see that she is beautiful

Why can't she see that she is enough

Why are her capabilities limited

Why is she limited to stereotypes

Why does she limit her self to social media

Why does she stare and compare

Can't you see that true beauty lies within

Can't you see that,

the reflection isn't what's inside

Why can't you see that your smile lights up the room

Yet you choose to keep it hidden

She stare blankly at the mirror,

hoping her reflection will change

What she doesn't realize is

BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

I hope this poem inspires many girls out there who base themselves off their beauty. I hope you all realize that y'all are beautiful irrespective of what anyone says. True beauty shines from within.
