This world is not perfect. We must learn to accept and understand, lower our expectations, demand more of ourselves, and impose less on others.

Yes, the more hopes, the more disappointments; the more expectations, the more disappointments.

When I saw this sentence, I instantly understood why I was unhappy.

When I send a text message, I fully expect to receive a timely reply; when I run an extra kilometer, I imagine that it will immediately lead to weight loss; when I give a little love, I always expect that he will give me the same amount in return. Love, and even more love.

If these expectations are met, I will be filled with joy. If they are not, I will feel uncomfortable for a long time.

In life, we always respond with excessive expectations, only to be slightly disappointed in the end. Maybe people are not perfect, no matter what they do, it is not as expected.

It is better to try to lower your expectations for everything. Maybe you will find that everything you get is beautiful and everything you encounter is joyful.

Life is not perfect, so it is better to lower your expectations of others, strive to enrich yourself, and do more meaningful things.

You know, no one exists to meet your expectations, and no one will change for you. Everyone else is busy, so love yourself more when you have time!

Perhaps in setting expectations every time we act more like kids, always wanting more and wishing for something new. I relate to this a lot. But lately I szarted to want less, to wish for simplifying, decluttering, choosing experiences over material stuff and moments with family instead of going shopping like before. I guess we wake up at some point and realize what is really important in life.

This is true, but you also have to be true to yourself and know what you deserve. Love your advice.

YES to every you said. Lowering expectations is the cheat code to not being constantly disappointed. It’s like, the less you expect, the more life surprises you. Love the reminder to focus on ourselves instead of waiting for others to fill the gaps! Beautifully written ❤️
