Edge Of The World

Out Of The Fray

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

I stood on the edge of the world today.

Surrounded by demons in chains

Collectively they tried my spirit to sway

So, I tauntingly asked them their names

I felt an evil wash ore' me like rain

I whispered; you'll be the one that needs savin'

Confused by my strength, they cried, riling in pain

As I sent out the call for the ravens

They came in a flood of black feathers and claw

taking aim at the wicked before me

Before they could vanish, the last thing they saw

Were the roots of my family tree

Steady and true, of the grandest design

the stronghold alone, midst' the fray

I shook off the weight and the trial of life

like the raven, I just flew away
