Heart races, leaps
stumbles and falls
Glimpsing a glimpse
of passion hiding
at wall's base, buried
deep in a stone
whirlwind swirling
in place, never rising
to see the sky
only in the quiet
places of her soul
half of a whole,
edges worn smooth
from feeling waves of
unfamiliar textures
found in a heart
not of her
single soft signal
beckons from afar
faint melodic note
lingers
echo splits the
night air

Well-wrought! It evokes a vision of longing, longing for resonance, looking for the echo of the passion in one's own heart.
This is a great poem. I luv this part: "echo splits the night air."
