The Easter Bunny Ate All My Eggs

I woke up early, full of cheer,

Easter morning finally here!

I searched the yard, I searched the bed,

not a single egg was spread!

The basket sat there—empty, bare,

No jellybeans or chocolate hare.

Then muddy prints led down the hall,

Big and fluffy, not so small.

I followed fast and what a sight,

That bunny had a guilty bite!

Chocolate smudged on whiskered lips,

Eggshells crushed beneath his hips.

He blinked at me with sugar eyes,

Then burped and said, “Sorry, surprise!

I meant to hide them, really tried…

until one by one,

they slipped inside My mouth
