We met in the east

Hearing you made my heart skip a beat at the very least.

The feelings within are now unreleased

Trapped in my ribs like a caged beast

For when I look at you, I see a feast

Unraveling my hunger like a piece of paper, the seams being uncreased

Holy affirmation bestowed upon me like a blessed priest

My pessimistic mind set continues to decrease

When I’m enveloped in your arms the negativity surceased

This energy you give me ensures that I cannot be policed

A love that flows naturally, unleased

Like bread, I cannot rise without you as my yeast.

For the day comes when your presence vanishes, I too shall become deceased

Void of life, like a dead hartebeest.
