You were beautiful before you withered away.
I would pack my bag, go to work, come back and then call it a day.
No water to replenish your soul,
No light for your petals lathered bright and your stem tall
You were beautiful before you withered away.
Drinks coffee in the morning, and wine at night, lets call it a day
Yet you grow weary, thirsty
Your branches are no longer sturdy
You were beautiful before you withered away.
Pseudosmiles, halved hugs, an unending cascade of imperfection boiling beneath the surface
“Aloe... charcoal... Orange face mask it’s been a very long day.”
Grows cold in the summer,
And never there in winter.
You were beautiful before you withered away.
What was left of the day is immersed in evening clouds
Carrying new water to replenish to your soul
The morning brings light for your petals, a braced stem, I see you standing tall.
You grow strong, healthy
Your branches appearing as though they have the power to hurt me.
I see you shining in the summer
And harvesting in the winter
I think you are beautiful to this day.
